Greek Letter Ksi (Ξι - Ξ)
In Semitic a crossmark stood for the "t" sound, but in Greek it ended up as the letter "chi". For some reason, the Greeks decided to use three bars for the "ks" double consonant. The Romans didn't need the "kh" sound, so they used the "chi" for their "ks" sound, which is now the english "X"
