Greek Sandals
Christina Martini studied shoe design in Cordwainers College, London, and has worked in Italy designing luxurious shoes at the firms Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton; she returned to Corfu a few years ago. Nikolas Minoglou studied in Boston and later created the most successful online site for shoes in Greece.
Their sandals have been inspired by Ancient Greece and have won a place in the hearts of women all over the world. The shoes are exclusively produced in Greece, using Greek resources, and 99% of the sales are exported to over forty countries. Many well – known women have chosen to wear Ancient Greek sandals, including Madonna, El McPherson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rhianna, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Emma Watson, while the shoes have also been featured in many established magazines, such as “Elle”, “Vogue”, “Conde Nast Traveller” as well as “New York Times” and “Financial Times”.
According to the designer, Christina Martini, the team had long thought of creating an international brand of handmade Ancient Greek sandals fully produced in Greece. To start on their venture, they first decided to expand their sales network in London. She believes that they have been successful because of perfect timing, as no similar luxurious and well – made product was in sale up to that point. Starting from London, they soon expanded their sales network to hot spots like Colette and Bonne Marche in Paris, Saks in 5th Avenue in New York, Selfridges in London, etc.
