Description of Villa Chelmos

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms

Villa Chelmos Overview

A spectacular sea-view villa within a 15-minute drive of Rhodes Town, Villa Chelmos is in just the right place for exploring the island’s highlights. Accommodating up to six guests in three stylish bedrooms, this villa also features an enticing outdoor pool.

Situated in the popular Ixia area, Villa Chelmos is around 2.5km from Ialyssos Beach, a well organised beach with lots of nearby amenities and pleasant nightlife. The villa boasts some impressive outdoor areas, with a large terrace incorporating sun loungers, a barbecue, seating area and dining table and chairs. The spacious private pool makes a fine centrepiece and enjoys wonderful views out to the ocean. You also have a lawn area where children can play safely.

The chic interiors are another highlight of Villa Chelmos, starting with a relaxing living area which opens out onto its own terrace with further seating. You will find a TV, fireplace and dining area in this open-plan space, which leads through to the kitchen. Roomy and modern, this room gives you a large fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and much more. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi are available at this villa.

The subtle décor continues in the three bedrooms. There are two with large double beds, and a third with twin beds. One bedroom has an en suite shower room of its own, while a second bathroom with bathtub serves the other rooms.

The island’s eponymous capital is a must-see and very easy to reach from your villa. With impressive historic sights including the medieval Old Town and the Palace of the Grand Masters, Rhodes has plenty of heritage, but it’s noticeably a lively, modern city with countless restaurants, bars and clubs.

Just down the eastern coast, the large, family-friendly beach at Faliraki is around 15 minutes’ drive from Villa Chelmos, while other hotspots like the Epta Piges waterfalls and Kallithea Springs seaside spa are within easy reach.

Villa Chelmos Location

The third-largest Greek islands, Rhodes blends old and new to great effect. From UNESCO World Heritage monuments to spas, beaches and lively nightlife, it really does have a lot to uncover.

The capital city, also called Rhodes, is a good starting point. On the island’s north-eastern tip, the city’s impressive Old Town is one of the largest and best-preserved in Europe. The Palace of the Grand Masters, a mighty former fortress and citadel, is the big-hitting attraction. Only a relatively small part of this vast palace is open to visitors, but it’s well worth venturing inside, with notable artworks like the Medusa Mosaic to look out for. The palace hosts various exhibitions and performances throughout the year.

The Archaeological Museum and The Museum of Modern Greek Art may also be of interest if you’re hungry for history. Landmarks such as Evangelismós Cathedral, the Street of the Knights and the Rhodes Acropolis are all worth seeing, along with churches, mosques and many more buildings of note. Rhodes Town also claims the world’s first landscaped park – if the city’s getting a little too busy, Rodini provides a calmer alternative.

For entertainment in the evenings, Rhodes Town and nearby Ixia offer good options. Ixia is a little quieter compared to what you can find in Rhodes. Orfanidou Street, for example, is known to some as ‘Bar Street’ due to its proliferation of clubs and bars. Lindos is known for a more sophisticated scene, with its high-quality rooftop restaurants overlooking the Lindos Acropolis. Around the rest of the island, nightlife may be more low-key, but you will probably find a beach bar or two wherever you go.

South of Rhodes, Faliraki is good for family attractions. Its busy, long and well organised beach, as well as a water-park and go-karting track, give it an appeal to younger visitors. Elsewhere. the Valley of the Butterflies offers unforgettable adventures with these beautiful creatures, while the Epta Piges, or Seven Springs, are magnificent too. These waterfalls, set amidst areas of woodland are wonderfully photogenic – and there’s a lake to swim in should you so choose. Not far away, the Tsambika Monastery enjoys a stunning view from its hilltop location.

If you fancy getting active, Rhodes has many walking and cycling routes you can follow. Sports such as horse-riding, tennis, golf and bungee jumping are easy to find too. The island is well known as a scuba-diving hotspot, with many great locations, and lessons for beginners are available. Boat trips and catamaran cruises are another popular way to discover Rhodes’ divine coast, or visit another island for the day.
