Villa Diaporos Overview

With mesmerising sea views, the beautiful Villa Diaporos enjoys a prime coastal spot close to Vourvourou in Greece’s Halkidiki region. This charming 2-bedroom property can accommodate up to six guests and lets you enjoy this area’s laidback lifestyle to the full-on its charming terrace with infinity pool.

The house is situated between the villages of Vourvourou and Agios Nikolaos, giving it a wonderful view out to Diaporos island. There is a rustic, traditional feel to the outdoor areas, which incorporate a sun terrace and covered seating and dining spaces. These areas are particularly enticing when lit at night, creating the perfect atmosphere for dinner and drinks as the sun sets, while the stunning ocean view makes the infinity pool even more appealing.

Step inside, and you will find a clean and modern home with all you could need for your stay. A comfy living room with sofa, satellite TV and a dining table and chairs for four, leads through to a well-equipped kitchen. Here you have a coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave and many more features. There is direct access to the terrace from the living room.

Two double bedrooms are complemented by two bathrooms, and there is sleeping space for two on the sofa-bed in the living room. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, TV and has its own balcony terrace with a table and chairs and a lovely sea view.

The exquisite natural environment of this area makes Villa Diaporos the ideal place just to chill and do nothing. With quiet beaches and free of noisy nightlife, Vourvourou is an idyllic spot too, and good for water-sports and boat trips.

Up the coast, things are a little livelier at the Talgo beach bar, where you can dine and drink in the most picturesque of settings. Also, be sure to visit Diaporos’ famous Blue Lagoon – it’s such a stunning sight that organised boat tours can take you to experience it.

Villa Diaporos Location

A hidden gem in the Greek region of Halkidiki, Vourvourou is peaceful and captivating. The area lies close to Diaporos, the largest of a cluster of islands which provides the locality’s main tourist attraction, the Blue Lagoon. This shallow bay almost appears to light up to spectacular effect, and visitors flock to the island to get a glimpse. You can rent a boat yourself or take advantage of an organised tour to join them.

On the mainland, you have a selection of beaches to discover, some very quiet, some a bit more lively. Most are wonderfully picturesque. Vourvourou Beach itself isn’t considered one of the best in the area – the photogenic Karidi Beach is among the most popular. There are some restaurants nearby, but you won’t find lines of sunbeds and parasols for hire here. The water is shallow and therefore, it’s a good family choice.

Livari Beach is also worth a mention, with its thin strip of sand extending into the sea giving the impression of people walking on water. When the sun rises over Mount Athos and reflects on the water, you have another natural effect worth capturing for posterity.

Some other beaches are more organised and feature sunbeds and the like, while some are so remote that you may be the only visitor. Rocky Bara is one such example. If you fancy some gourmet dining and are willing to pay for it, try Oneirou.

The area’s lack of big towns and branded attractions is perhaps its own big attraction. You won’t encounter hedonistic nightlife here either, and peace and quiet is easily found. Discovering the smaller islands around Diaporos, is a decision you won’t regret – and there are eight more of them to get to know.
